Tiger-Trainingskurs in Emmen

Recht selten ist inzwischen die Northrop F-5 geworden, besonders in Europa. Hier hält vor allem die Schweiz die Fahne hoch, auch wenn von den ursprünglich in den 70er und 80er Jahren bestellten 110 Exemplaren der F-5E und F-5F nur noch rund ein Fünftel aktiv ist. Die Schweizer Luftwaffe nutzt den Tiger aktuell hauptsächlich zur Zieldarstellung für die Hornet-Staffeln.

Zur Auffrischung finden für die Milizpiloten auf dem Fliegerhost Emmen bei Luzern regelmäßig zwei-wöchige Trainingskurse statt wie hier im November 2022. Dabei kommen auch die in den Farben der Kunstflugstaffel Patrouille Suisse lackierten Jets zum Einsatz. In der Regel fliegen während des Kurses vier Mal am Tag jeweils vier Flugzeuge. The Northrop F-5 has become quite rare, especially in Europe. Here, Switzerland in particular keeps the flag flying, even though only about a fifth of the 110 F-5Es and F-5Fs originally ordered in the 1970s and 1980s are still active. The Swiss Air Force currently uses the Tiger mainly for aggressor duties for the Hornet squadrons. For refresher training, regular two-week training courses are held for the militia pilots at Emmen Air Base near Lucerne, as here in November 2022. The jets painted in the colours of the Patrouille Suisse aerobatic team are also used. Most of the time, four aircraft fly four times a day during the course.
