Die Pokémon-Jumbos von ANA

Seit den 90er Jahren ist Pokémon nicht nur in Japan bekannt. Auch vor der Airline-Branche hat das Phänomen nicht halt gemacht. So verzierten entsprechende Motive bereits mehrere Airliner. Darunter befanden sich zwei Boeing 747 von All Nippon Airways. Die größtenteils gelbe Maschine mit der Kennung JA8957 erhielt den Namen „Pikachu Jumbo“ und wurde im Mai 2004 der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. Diese 747-481D flog bis September 2013 im Inlandsflugbetrieb von Tokyo-Haneda aus. Ein Jahr später erfolgte ihre Verschrottung. Der zweite Jumbo war die blaue 747-481D mit der Zulassung JA8956, die Ende 2004 ihre Sonderlackierung und den Namen „Ohana“ erhielt. Sie ging bereits Ende 2012 außer Dienst und wurde ebenfalls verschrottet. Die Fotos entstanden 2005 in Haneda.

Since the 90s, Pokémon has not only been known in Japan. The phenomenon has not stopped at the airline industry either. Several airliners have already been decorated with such special liveries. Among them were two Boeing 747s from All Nippon Airways. The mostly yellow aircraft with the registration JA8957 was named “Pikachu Jumbo” and was presented to the public in May 2004. This 747-481D flew in domestic service from Tokyo-Haneda until September 2013. It was scrapped a year later. The second jumbo was the blue 747-481D with registration JA8956, which received its special livery and the name “Ohana” at the end of 2004.
